Hi Jasmine,

Losing hair up to and around 24 months is usually just a part of the process. It’s an entirely normal occurrence. If you’ve already checked with her pediatrician and made sure she doesn’t have any underlying conditions (alopecia or Trichotillomania) then it’s safe to say that this is just her normal shedding and growth pattern.

To help that spot along have her sleep on a satin blanket that you tuck into the sides of her crib or bed. Have her sleep on this EVERY night. Cotton bedding can really do a number on natural hair.

Have you started deep conditioning her hair yet? She’s more than old enough. You should be deep conditioning her hair (processing with heat) at least every other week. That will help out with moisture retention which will ultimately lead to hair health and hair growth. Make sure that you’re spritzing her hair with water before applying any products and be sure to seal her hair with a natural oil like extra virgin olive oil or Jamaican black castor oil after every moisturizing session. Jamaican black castor oil works wonders on hair growth.

Good luck! 🙂
