Product selection is all going to boil down to trial and error. To lock in moisture you’ll need to seal with an oil after you’ve applied a water-based leave-in and a hair cream of some type. Thick oils like extra virgin olive oil or even shea butter are great to lock in moisture on highly porous hair. Make sure you’re spritzing her hair with water before applying any product.
