Hi,

First, check out this article on natural baby hair care. You’ll find that your current regimen is really all you need to do at this point. These are your easy months momma! Soon you’ll be wishing for the days when a few wispy strands was all that she had. lol.

Keep in mind that up to about 24 months your little one may lose hair before she gains it. Hair growth shouldn’t necessarily be your goal (because in most instances you’ll just be disappointed). Hair HEALTH is your ultimate priority right now. If her hair is starting or has already made the change to a more coarse texture, feel free to add a leave-in conditioner to your regimen for her.

So, shampoo weekly as you are, then follow up with a leave-in. Kinky Curly has a great kids leave-in that you can start with. After your leave-in, follow up with your oil. That’s it! If her hair seems really dry between wash days, spritz her hair with a little water from a spray bottle and then seal with your oil. Following this regimen will set her hair up for future growth and ultimate hair health. 🙂

Thank you soooo much!!! Another thing how many times should I moisturize and seal it throughout the week?? Or does it just depends on her type of hair?? And her hair becomes dry in the back faster than the front and when I do put ponytails it really doesn’t last a whole week even when I put a stocking cap on her hair at night but it does feel moisturize still and when I leave it out into a fro all over her hair becomes extremely dry so do I moisturize and seal it everyday or every other day when it’s in a fro??

Glad I could help! There’s no set time schedule for moisturizing. As you said, it depends on her hair. If it feels dry, moisturize it. 🙂 That may mean every other day or she may be able to stretch it to every few days. Once you start doing regular conditioning utilizing your leave-in, you’ll notice that her hair will retain moisture for longer and you can then ease up on the moisturizing sessions.

You’ve figured out the fact that if her hair is in a protective style it will retain moisture longer. If it’s out in a ‘fro, the moisture evaporates quicker which means you will have to moisturize more often.

Oh I forgot to ask do I use the tiny twirls detangler conditioner as a leave in because I didn’t see a regular leave in conditioner in the tiny twirls hair collection

I don’t know much about Tiny Twirls. If it’s advertised as a leave-in and the first ingredient is water (aqua) then you should be fine using that as a leave-in.
