What can I use to keep my daughter hair in tact?
The reality is that product selection is all going to boil down to trial and error. I can suggest all day, but you’ll have to remember that what works for me/my little one’s hair may work completely different on your little one’s hair. Different hair types, textures and porosities will require a unique regimen and combination of products. Shea Moisture and Aunt Jackies are great brands to start with. A general rule of thumb is to try a product on clean/clarified hair for six weeks. If it doesn’t produce noticeable growth, then it’s time to move on.
Healthy hair growth is less about the products and more about your regimen and how you physically treat the hair. Does your little one sleep with a satin bonnet or on a satin pillowcase every night? Do you only detangle her hair when it’s damp and slick with conditioner? Does she get in the recommended amount of water and green veggies each day for her age group? Those are all things that make the difference between healthy hair growth and slow or stunted hair growth. 🙂
